![]() ![]() Thing is I need more than one device (backblaze can’t offer this to me within my budget) and the sync feature to be able to sync local files and share them with ppl much like Dropbox is a feature I loved also. ![]() And the 95% off the first year! I was honestly seconds away from buying a year of Idrive before reading this post. Even YouTubers with no affiliation.Īlso the sync feature and stuff like this seemed pretty neat. What about a trusted one like Dropbox? They have a new backup feature Įvery review site seems to sing idrives praises over backblaze. The BB ethos is that you shouldn't have to think about what you back up, but they overshot on this one.Īnyway, BB gets my vote, if only because CP's upload is so terrible. You can define a list of folder paths to exclude, but they're not specific to any one drive. Slower, more space and overhead to extract. Web restorations seem to require multiple 500GB ZIP files. The Backblaze client is much more responsive and uploads max out my 45 Mbps upload. No ZIP files, no need to use a web client just point it at a drive and let it work. However, on the upside, restores through their application are simple and saturate my 1 Gbps download connection. CP silently excludes certain file types associated with, e.g., VMs.CP's app is very slow and performance-intensive.I just switched to Backblaze for a few reasons: I've been on CrashPlan for a few years, first as a home user and more recently on a Small Business plan. Please suggest any others if you have them! so the idrive free hard drive option is no good for me The 5/30 day wait for upload and download and the challenges of recovering everything just seems like a hassle. So atm that’s probally top of my list because of its ease of access. It’s not directly the same as cloud backup but if it’s safe enough I’m fine with that, I just can’t see where it mentions how many devices you can have anywhere. I’m aware Dropbox isn’t 100% cloud backup and it’s more cloud storage but it seems to have everything I want and is secure and on top of that much faster download and upload speeds and easier access to files. I’ve looked into a few and I like the look of IDrive, Backblaze, Dropbox Backup so far. Fast upload/download speeds (I’ve heard most of these take 5 days to download and upload and I don’t wanna wait this long).10TB storage + but preferably unlimited.Ability to backup two computers and a hard drive possibly two.Automatically backs up/makes changes when I do on the computer online also.I was able to recover the data but it was very expensive and I don’t want this to happen again so I’m looking for cloud back up software for all my files. Essentially I had a hard drive crash recently. ![]()
